8/365: still relevant
Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 2:50AM even with all this great new digital technology and innovation, there is something about going out and shooting a roll of expired film and an old rangefinder camera that feels a bit liberating. not having to deal with latest and greatest sensor technology and shooting modes sometimes lets you work on your creative eye.
now don't get me wrong, iam not trying to get into a debate about film vs digital because it is obvious that progression is always needed and that digital has allowed the more and more people to enjoy the wonderful world of photography.
when you look at a print shot from your favorite roll of film on your favorite old camera, it just has that certain edge or character to it. so don't get rid of your old film and old cameras just yet and get out there with a roll of film...that is if you can still remember how to load it.
